Our Story
MrGameShow was founded by me, Andy Geremia, in late 2020 as a side hustle. My wife Tracey has been a huge support and is a great assistant! In 2025 we did over 120 events and grossed over $50K. This was done part-time, we both still have day jobs. We’ve grown the business by 25% a year with no advertising or social media. Most of our business comes from repeat clients and word of mouth.
I think about games a lot! I design board games as a hobby and have licensed game concepts to toy companies (see them on our website). During Covid I designed games that could be played outdoors, by groups of people playing simultaneously. Some of these games flopped, but the ones we host today are all crowd pleasers. The games have been tested and fine-tuned for over 5 years and maximized for fun and enjoyment.
As a former corporate trainer with experience creating and delivering engaging training materials, I’ve packaged up our games for entrepreneurs to deliver in their cites and build a successful game show business.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is MrGameShow a franchise?
No, MrGameShow uses a membership model to significantly reduce startup costs. This model was recommended to me by Guy Raz on the How I Built This podcast (Advice Line episode with Curt Richardson of Otterbox, 07-16-26). This makes your game show business an affordable one to start and there are no royalties paid on what you earn.
What are the startup costs for a game show business?
If you’re starting from scratch, approximately $2000-$4000:
$1700-$3000 for equipment. We provide recommended list that may be purchased from any source. We do not sell any equipment.
$300-$1000 for state business fees, insurance, etc.
How much can I earn and how profitable is the business?
Based upon your clientele, event rates would be in $150-$500+ range. Your location and how far you’re willing to travel will impact the number of events you book. Your drive and ambition to grow the business will determine how much you earn. Without the need for a storefront or inventory the overall monthly expenses are low for a game show business, about $250-$350/mo.
Below is a summary of our MrGameShow business in Sarasota, Florida. Founded in late 2020, it is still a part time business for us. All our business has been earned through cold calling, cold emails, and word of mouth.
MrGameShow Florida Business Summary:
$20K in 2021, first full year (76 events, 1-2 events per week, $263 per event)
$50k in 2025 (129 events, 2-3 events per week, $388 per event).
25% growth each year.
90+% net profit margin.
How do I schedule and invoice events?
Clients book directly with you. You invoice and collect payments. It’s your business; you manage it completely. (We use Google Calendar for reservations and PayPal for invoicing.)
How long does a game show last?
All our games are designed to be a fun-filled 90 minutes.
How much gear is needed?
We’ve designed everything for a 20 minute setup. Everything fits onto one collapsible cart to efficiently get in and out of venues. The heaviest item is the speaker, 29-39lbs depending on the model. No computer required for the games, just a tablet/phone to play music from.
Is there an app for the games?
No. We’ve tried apps and technology but find that old school paper and pencil cause the least headaches and is the most enjoyable for players. It also creates more interaction with the crowd as they need to turn in answers.
How do I get the game content?
All the content is in digital files. You print out the paper forms/cards needed for the game. MrGameShow content is copyrighted and may only be used while you’re an active member.
How do I get the music?
Our games have lists of songs that get played in a specific order. You’ll need to use a music streaming service (such as Tidal with DJ Extension, $20/mo) or purchase songs from your favorite music source (such as iTunes). Personal streaming apps such as Spotify or Apple Music are for private, non-commercial use.
How much training is provided?
Our playbook will walk you through setting up your business, how to get business, and best practices. The game show content contains a script and step by step instructions. During your first month, 2 hours of virtual calls per week are available for training and consulting. Each month after that you may schedule a 30 minute call. Getting a few events under your belt is the best way to get comfortable with the materials. Nothing beats on the job training. We recommend your first few games are played with family and friends.
I’m not a very outgoing person, is this business for me?
The main driver to success is being organized and having a positive attitude. We have the tools, training, and support to help you with the rest.
Most people that get behind a microphone have jitters (I still do when I get a new gig). Like everything else, the more you do it, the easier it gets. It’s not you that makes or breaks the night, it’s the overall experience that people remember. No one ever said the wedding DJ was awful because they weren’t entertaining enough – the DJ was awful because of the music selection and the flow of the music. Our game shows have a great flow and are designed to be engaging. You simply need to guide the ship and smile!
I already have an entertainment business; can I offer your game shows under my brand?
You may use MrGameShow licensed content to provide game shows options for your clients. The game content is copyrighted MrGameShow intellectual property and may not be altered.
Why is the final month of membership paid upfront?
If a member decides to let their membership lapse, there is no final membership payment that has to be dealt with.
Why don’t you offer trivia?
We love trivia! There are many places that offer trivia, but how many offer game shows? Our games allow you to differentiate yourself from the many trivia providers. Pop Culture Mashup and Sort That Tune are trivia type games so if your client wants a trivia game you can offer those games. Our games are much more conversational than traditional trivia and appeal to a wider audience.
What makes MrGameShow games unique?
The games have been designed for everyone to play simultaneously (from 20-200 people). This makes it more enjoyable for everyone since there is no waiting around for a turn.
Our games have been tested and fine-tuned for over 5 years and packed full of fun while being easy to play with just paper and pencil. The games have been created to be quickly self-corrected as a group. The answer reveal is a big part of our games. The amount of cheering that occurs during this part of the game is amazing. All this excitement is lost with an app, or when hosts manually corrects, or when answer sheets get swapped with other teams for correction. The games get big reactions when teams correct their own answers. The conversations and celebrations that take place during the game are what participants will remember most about the night, not what place they came in. Our games bring the fun!
